Who we are

We are clinical psychologists based in London specialising in child, adolescent, parental and adult mental health.  We each have over 10 years of ongoing clinical experience in the NHS and social care, working with families with multiple and complex needs, offering assessment, intervention and consultation in the NHS and social care.  We currently work as senior clinical psychologists within the NHS, working closely with local authorities and family law solicitors.

We have worked extensively in the field of complex and developmental trauma, assessing the impact of this on parenting capacity and parental capacity for change.  We have a comprehensive understanding of the range of psychosocial factors that impact upon parenting, including intergenerational trauma, substance misuse, mental health difficulties and domestic violence.  We are also experienced in assessing the impact of these factors on child development across multiple domains, and identifying both immediate and longer-term impact of child maltreatment and neglect.

We offer psychological assessments with children and families in public and private legal proceedings, using our expertise in family relationships, child development and attachment.

Our Values

Our passion lies in working with children and families to promote their development, safety and best interests.  We do this by providing a trauma-informed and evidence-based approach to psychological assessment, formulation and recommendations.  We recognise the impact of trauma on family functioning and the challenges many families have faced leading up to the psychological assessment process.

We believe that a psychological assessment should be transparent, fair and objective, in order to enable a family to demonstrate their strengths as well as their needs.  We facilitate this through a compassionate and non-adversarial approach.

We are committed to providing an evidence-based assessment process that is thorough, rigorous and objective, to support the decision-making process.  Our assessments are carried out over at least two separate visits with each family member to allow clients time and an opportunity to reflect between appointments. We believe this enables us to make a clearer assessment of parental insight and capacity to change, which informs our recommendations in the best interests of the children.
